Team & Mission

Market intelligence for African solar - reliable, independent, actionable.

01Our mission

Turning data into decisions

SolarBrief.Africa is the leading B2B media for solar energy in Africa. Our job: turning the news and market data into actionable intelligence for public and private decision-makers across the continent's 54 countries - in both French and English.

We fill a gap. Quality solar intelligence remains scarce, especially in French-speaking Africa, often diluted within general energy news. SolarBrief delivers deep, proactive coverage there, backed by pan-African credibility.

Not general news, but market intelligence.

Every piece connects the day's events to the data that matters - installed capacity, investments, costs and tariffs - to help a decision-maker act: invest, bid on a tender, choose equipment, anticipate regulation.

02Our principles

Three rules we do not bend

Independence

We inform the market. SolarBrief is independent from its advertisers: our editorial line is neither activist nor promotional. Sponsored content is clearly labelled.

Rigorous sourcing

Factual, quantified, sourced. Every market claim rests on a named source.

Pan-Africanism with French-speaking roots

Continental coverage of all 54 countries, with unmatched depth on French-speaking Africa - where the need for information is greatest and the supply weakest.

03Who we write for

Four decision-maker profiles

SolarBrief is written for the sector's decision-makers, four profiles at the heart of our editorial line:

  • Energy decision-makers (IPPs, EPCs) - equipment costs and market data, bankability of projects (ground-mounted or C&I) with the Project Builder.
  • Public and para-public decision-makers - benchmarks and lessons learned; who does what: regulatory framework, project development, financing.
  • Financial decision-makers (DFIs, private equity, banks) - deal tracking, market data, project financial modelling.
  • Industrial decision-makers (mining, telecom, agri) - solar vs diesel economics, technologies, suppliers, use cases, total cost of ownership modelling.
04Our method

How we work

  1. Five to seven analyses per week Decision-oriented formats: enriched briefs, deep-dives, feature investigations, and sector interviews.
  2. Primary sources, a network across the continent Every article is validated by a member of the editorial team, who remains accountable for it, and ends with a “why it matters” takeaway for the relevant decision-maker.
  3. Natively bilingual Every piece is published in French and English.
05Our artificial-intelligence charter

AI speeds up, humans sign off

We use artificial-intelligence tools to speed up certain tasks, never at the expense of reliability or human accountability. No article is published without validation by a member of the editorial team, who remains fully responsible for it and signs it. Our use of AI is transparent and deliberate.
